Jean-Philippe Goude - Drones (1980)




Jean-Philippe Goude is a French keyboardist and composer, born in Paris in 1952. In the seventies was interested in the minimalist musicians Terry Riley and Philip Glass. He soon made a band called "MADAME BERTRAND". Olivier Cole and Jean-Philippe himself on keyboards, helped out by electronics wizard Francois Gingle released one album, called "JEUNES ANNEES" in 1975, a record for which Goude had written all compositions. A few months later, Jean-Philippe, strongly recommended by ZAO's drummer Jean-My Truong, joined Bernard Paganotti's band WEIDORJE in which he shared keyboard duties with Patrick Gauthier. A few months later, Jean-Philippe, strongly recommended by ZAO's drummer Jean-My Truong, joined Bernard Paganotti's band WEIDORJE in which he shared keyboard duties with Patrick Gauthier. After the band's break up, he followed a solo carear and in 1979 recorded the album "Drones".

Again WOW. More French neo prog electronic music most people forgot about or never heard! Reminds a little of Heldon. The French being the French always did things their way and the music doesnt comes across as American or British. Nothing sounds like Heldon and this release if up there with the best!
