Clearlight Symphony - Forever blowing bubbles - (Re-uploaded)

Forever Blowing Bubbles, released in 1975 and on Virgin, is the second album of Clearlight Symphony. In this album there are not any Gong members, but the guests here include David Cross of King Crimson on violin, Christian Boulé on cosmic guitar (he also appeared live with Steve Hillage on the Live Herald album), Gilbert Artman on drums and percussion,
Amanda Parsons and Ann Rosenthal.
"Forever Blowing bubbles" sounds a lot less like Gong and more like a symphonic version of Steve Hillage's solo works. Great progressive rock music with beautiful keyboard, guitar and saxophone solos.

Panas (upcoming album from thaneco - 2011)

Panas (or Pan) is an ancient greek god associated with sheperds and music. He was born with the legs and horns of a goat that caused his mother to abandone him. Ancient god Hermes wanted to help him and took him to Olympus to meet the other greek gods. Unfortunately they made fun of him, because of his appearence, and then he left them to live alone in the woods of Arcadia. There he met many Nymphs (fairies of nature) including Syrinx, Echo and Pitys. Panas tried to seduce them but without any luck. In order to avoid him Syrinx was changed into a reed. Panas took this reed and a few more and made a musical instrument that he always played. Echo was a great singer and dancer and Panas was jealous of her and instructed his followers to kill her. Finnaly Pitys turned into a pine tree to avoid him. Panas greatest conquest was goddess Selene. He accomplished this by wrapping himslef in a sheepskin (to hide his hair black goat form) and drew her down from the sky in to the forest where he seduced her.
All music of the album is made with vintage synths such as minimoog model D, Korg Polysix, Moog Rogue, Roland SH-101, Kurzweil k2vx, Korg Z1, Yamaha CS15D, and many more. All tracks came mostly from long improvisations.
You can listen to some of the tracks here on soundcloud
Please leave me a comment. It will be very helpful to know your thoughts. Thanx!

Damascus Pollaroid - The Record Sessions

This is the side project of thaneco, a collaboration with Greek artist and poet George Dendias. All tracks are improvised using old records and vintage synths and drum machines. Experimental/avant garde at its best!

Smackos - The Age Of Candy Candy (2004)

A weird vintage electro - ambient album almost like an obscure album to the cult animation series "candy candy". Netherland's Smackos (Danny Wolfers) is playing vintage classic analogue gear such as a Roland Jupiter 4 & 8, Korg MS10, MS20 & SQ10 Sequencer Arp Odyssey and Moog Minimoog and making beautiful atmospheric tracks with no drums or drum machines. Originally released as cdr, this albums is highly recommended.

Conrad Schnitzler - Ballet Statique("Con")

Conrad Schnitzler was always ahead of his time. He has influenced many experimental/IDM electronic artists. I can hear many influences in modern bands such as Autechre. It was recorded in 1978 at the legendary Paragon Studio, Berlin by Tangerine Dream's Peter Baumann with the title "Con". In 1992 it was rereleased by Tempel and marketed by Spalax music (France)

Buddha Sentenza - Mode 0909

Buddha Sentenza is a psychedelic-space rock band from Heidelberg (Germany). Their album "Mode 0909" is full of energetic instrumental hard rock tracks that remind me of Black Sabbath and Hawkwind. Here is their lineup:

General Punishment – Guitar
Baa Baa Blacksheep – Guitar / Violin
Munro Merthahens – Bass
Jesus Malverde – Drums / Percussion
Pontifex Maximus – Organ / Synthesizer

The following paragraph is taken from their official website:
"After a seemingly random sonic collision over the city of Heidelberg in late 2008, the constellation of *Buddha Sentenza* began to form during the darkest hours of that cold and silent winter. Deep under the earth, in the hidden bowels of the Klonlabor tunnel complex, the searing strings and pounding drums condensed rapidly to form a nebulous cloud of loosely jammed, spaced-out, rocking riffs. Rotating freely around some of the most ancient soundscapes – from the astral end of the Pink Floyd to the depths of distant galaxies such as Black Sabbath – Buddha Sentenza has continued to expand while drawing energy from contemporary constellations.
Thus, its elements follow the trail of early rock psychonauts and modern riffrockers alike, fusing droning riffs, screaming solos and cosmic harmonies into an instrumental sound experience that defies any strict genre boundaries. The result is a texture that combines the raw massiveness of rock with the infinite possibilities of outer space."

Tim Blake - Magick

UK born and France based composer and keyboardist Tim BLAKE started his career way back in 1970 as a sound and light artist. And while some will associate him most for his numerous stints in renowned bands Gong and Hawkwind, it is as a solo artist he made a name for himself.

His first solo album "Crystal machine" was issued in 1977, and Crystal Machine is also the name most often associated with Blake by keyboard and light effects aficiniados. Together with lights expert Patrice Warrener they have performed under this moniker numerous times, enchanting and enthralling audiences for decades. On occasion, French keyboardist Jean-Philippe Rykiel has participated on these concerts as well, in particular in his formative years, and he also contributed to Blake's second solo effort "Blake's New Jerusalem" in 1978.

The 1980's was a barren period as far as solo recordings from Tim Blake is concerned, but in 1991 he returned with his third full album effort "Magick". Another 9 years would go by before the fourth solo effort "The Tide of the Century" saw the light of day, issued in 2000. The final regular solo album by Tim Blake came in 2002, in the shape of "Caldea Music II".

Since then Blake has opted to stay away from the old-fashioned scheme of releasing music on physical formats, and has chosen to go all digital instead. He currently purvey his various solo efforts digitally exclusively from his own website.

Blake's career was put on halt in 2004, when he suffered serious injuries in a car accident, but in 2007 he had recovered and decided to hook up with long time associates Hawkwind. He's an active member in this band to this day, and is currently busy with the rest of the band celebrating their 40 year anniversary as recording artists.

Conrad Schnitzler - Rektifikation

Conrad Schnitzler has been an institution in the German electronic music scene for thirty years. He studied with Joseph Beuys in the mid 1960’s, and in the late sixties joined the then fledgling German rock band Tangerine Dream. He added a bizarre, conceptual approach to Tangerine Dream that catapulted the band to legendary status, documented on the bands first album “Electronic Meditation”. Schnitzler left after that first album, forming with his friends Moebius and Roedelius the band Kluster. Kluster recorded and released three albums before Schnitzler again
Here I present one of his most weird solo albums (only 300 copies were made). Pure electronic space weirdness!
