Harmonia - Musik Von Harmonia (1974 - FLAC format)

"Musik Von Harmonia" is the debut album from the highly influential Krautrock/Kosmische Musik group Harmonia. Harmonia, was formed by the addition of Neu! guitarist Michael Rother to Cluster, the duo of Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius. They recorded the album from June to November 1973, in Forst Germany. It was produced by the band members.
Ned Raggett's review for Allmusic : "The debut Harmonia album is at once a product of their source bands and a fine new twist on them, resulting in music that captures what for many is the Krautrock ideal..." He adds "...it's at once playful and murky, steady and mechanical, a supergroup of sorts who easily achieves and maintains such a seemingly overstated status by embracing a variety of approaches that work wonders."

Harmonia - Deluxe (1975 - remastered, flac format)

Deluxe is the second album from the highly influential Krautrock/Kosmische Musik group Harmonia. Harmonia was formed by the addition of Neu! guitarist Michael Rother to Cluster, the duo of Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Dieter Moebius.
Deluxe was recorded in June, 1975 in Harmonia's studio in Forst, Germany. It was first released on the Brain Records label in 1975. It was produced by the band members and legendary Krautrock producer, Conny Plank.[1] Ned Raggett's review for Allmusic opens: "A touch more immediate and song-oriented than its predecessor, but no less enchanting and lovely to hear, De Luxe again features the trio experimenting with a variety of approaches, most particularly including vocals here and there for the first time."[2] The Ground and Sky review by Joe McGlinchey describes Deluxe, in part: "The album also has more of a drive to it than the first Harmonia album, perhaps in part to Rother's guitar being much more upfront and noticeable, as well as the addition of Guru Guru drummer Mani Neumeier on some tracks."[3] Neumeier performs a lengthy jam on the track "Walky Talky". Ned Raggett adds: "The motorik pulses and rhythms, however soft and subtle, still dominate the proceedings, while the glazed, warm feeling of the whole album is astounding."

Moebius - Blue Moon (1986)

Dieter Moebius (born 1944 in Switzerland, died 20 July 2015) was a German/Swiss experimental-ambient electronic musician.
Moebius studied art in Brussels and Berlin and met there Hans-Joachim Roedelius and Conrad Schnitzler(Tangerine Dream). They founded a band Kluster in 1969. After the departure of Schnitzler, they changed their name to Cluster. Later Moebius and Roedelius founded the band Harmonia with Michael Rother (Neu!), which also collaborated with Brian Eno.
Dieter Moebius was involved into numerous projects with such musicians as Conny Plank, Mani Neumeier (Guru Guru).Moebius toured with Michael Rother as Rother & Moebius in 2007. Additionally, on 27 November 2007, a Harmonia reunion concert was held in Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Berlin, where the band performed together live for the first time since 1976.
"Blue Moon" was Moebius's (Cluster/Harmonia) last solo release for Sky Records. It is the soundtrack to a film of the same name, some kind of late '80s German crime thriller, possibly. Anyway, this is the only instance of Moebius writing a film score and as such it's defined by certain parameters which mark it from the rest of his work. A totally unique album.
R.I.P. Moebius!

Michael Rother - Katzenmusik (1979)

Katzenmusik is the third studio album by the German solo artist Michael Rother. It was released in 1979 and includes the single "Katzenmusik 9" b/w "Katzenmusik 2".

The album was recorded between March and July 1979 in Germany at Rother's own studio in Forst and Conny Plank's Studio. Receiving positive reviews the album was released as an LP in 1979 before it was re-released by Polydor in 1982. The album was issued on CD in 1990, and then reisused again in 1993 with bonus tracks and having been remastered. The artwork for the album was designed by Rike with photography by Ann Weitz and Rother himself.

In this album Jaki Liebezeit (from Can) plays the drums but the entirety of the album was written and performed by Rother utilising guitar and electronic instrumentation.

Paul Nagle - The Soft Room 1980-1985 (2013)

Paul Nagle released this amazing compilation, in 2013, that has selections from his rare cassette albums of the period 1980-1985. This compilation was released in vinyl and cd. His style of music is similar to Steve Hillman and to other artists of early Berlin School electronica. I like the variety of his compositions  and I can't wait to listen to the rest of his discography. Truly great stuff!

Paul Nagle - Chimera (1983)

Paul Nagle began to compose and perform electronic, experimental music in late 1970s. A leading figure in the UK electronic music scene, he released his early albums on cassette and performed at the legendary first UK Electronica festival in 1983. He has, over the years, released many new age / chillout and electronic albums, often in collaboration with other musicians.
"Chimera" is an extremely rare album and a personal favourite (taken directly from the cassette)!

Tusco - Suspence Elettronica (1983)

Tusco is composer Piero Umiliani and this is an experimental/ambient electronic album from the early 80s. Very little is known about this rare lp but I'm guessing he is using a giant EMS Synthi 100 synthesizer. If you have any information please post it in your comments.

Beaver & Krause - "In A Wild Sanctuary "+ "Gandharva" (1970, 1971)

Beaver & Krause were a musical duo made up of Paul Beaver and Bernie Krause. Their 1967 album The Nonesuch Guide to Electronic Music was a pioneering work in the electronic music genre.
Beaver introduced Monkees singer-drummer Micky Dolenz to the Moog, which became a featured instrument on the fourth Monkees album, Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd., and Beaver himself performed on one track, "Star Collector" in 1967. In addition, he led workshops at the Beaver & Krause LA studio attended by a who's who of film composers and session keyboardists of the time.
In June 1967, Beaver and Krause set up a booth at the Monterey Pop Festival, demonstrating their newly purchased electronic synthesiser, one of the first constructed by Bob Moog.
Thanks to their demonstrations of the Moog at Monterey, Beaver and Krause also introduced the instrument to a number of other leading American pop acts including The Doors, Simon & Garfunkel and The Byrds, helping to create the vogue for the Moog that emerged in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

In 1968, Beaver and Krause released an album for Mercury Records imprint Limelight Records, Ragnarok, then released a series of three albums for Warner Brothers Records, In a Wild Sanctuary (1970), Gandharva (1971) and All Good Men (1972), effectively creating both the electronica and New Age musical movements.

Dick Hyman studied at Columbia University and played with some of the greatests Jazz musicians like Teddy Wilson, Red Norvo, and Benny Goodman. Hyman did different recordings under different nicknames and in 1966 recorded a cover of "Moritat" on harpsichord with his trio which sold over a million copies. During late '60s he investigated the earliest periods of Jazz and Ragtime and researched and recorded the music of some of the first early Jazz figures. Hyman experimented with various keyboard instruments, including Baldwin and Lowrey organs. In the late 60's he recorded a series of Avant-Garde albums using a Minimoog synthesizer focused in the instrument. He recorded some of the most apreciated albums from the Space Age Pop. Hyman has also worked for TV, scoring film soundtracks for Woody Allen, and as a Jazz pianist and organist.

Goblin - Profondo Rosso, the complete edition (1975, 1996)

The soundtrack to the film Deep Red (profondo rosso) was mainly composed and performed by the Italian progressive rock band Goblin. Director Dario Argento had originally contacted jazz pianist and composer Giorgio Gaslini to score the film, but he was unhappy with his output, deeming it "awful". After failing to get Pink Floyd to write music for the film, Argento turned back to Italy and found Goblin.[2] In the final score, only three of Gaslini's original themes were retained however, in the film's original theatrical release, Gaslini was given full composer credit for the entire score, while Goblin were wrongly credited only as performers [i.e. "Music by Giorgio Gaslini, performed by Goblin"]. This was corrected in subsequent home video releases.
In 1996, the complete film soundtrack was re-released on CD by Cinevox, under the supervision of Claudio Simonetti. This release includes all the music featured in the film, as well as a remix of the main theme and two sound effects tracks from the film itself.
  • Walter Martino: drums, percussion
  • Massimo Morante: Electric guitars, Acoustic guitars, bouzouki, vocals
  • Fabio Pignatelli: Fender Precision Bass (fretless), Rickenbacker bass (fretted), Tabla, Acoustic guitar, vocals
  • Claudio Simonetti: Mellotron (presets: 3-Violins, church organ and 8-Choir), Elka organ, Logan violin, Celesta, Fender Rhodes Electric piano, Grand piano, Harpsichord,[4] Moog synthesizers (Minimoog and System 55)
  • Giorgio Gaslini: Orchestra conductor/arranger
  • Giorgio Agazzi: recording engineer

  • PS: track 25 ("deep shadows") is one of the most beautiful progressive tracks I ever heard!

The personnel of New Goblin included Maurizio Guarini, Massimo Morante, and Claudio Simonetti from the original version of Goblin, together with Bruno Previtali and Titta Tani from Simonetti's band Daemonia,
