Space Art - Trip In The Center Head (1977)

The second album of Space Art is just as good as the first, giving us distinct melodies that did not flow from one to the next like the songs on the first album, but told amazing stories within themselves. This album contains my favorite Space Art piece, "L'obsession d'Archibald". It is interesting to note that the album was released with two different titles. One was "Trip In The Head Center" and the other was "Trip In The Center Head". It is unknown if this was accidental or on purpose and which one is more rare. The music is identical on both.
If you love synth music you should listen to this album. This download contains two extra tracks.

Popol Vuh - Affenstunde (1970)

Affenstunde is the debut recording by composer and multi-instrumentalist Florian Fricke's Popol Vuh, named for the sacred Mayan text. It was issued on the Liberty label in Germany in 1970 and has been in print, off and on, in Europe, Japan, and even in the United States sporadically since that time. For those completely dislocated by Tangerine Dream's early experiments in sonic terror and dynamics, Affenstunde is somehow akin yet very different. Fricke's synthesizers are more interested in pulse and circularity, not utter dislocation and shock. The music here all seems of a piece, despite the different selection titles and the single percussion piece on the set, "Dream, Pt. 5" -- primitive hand drums run through the middle of the mix. Other than this selection, the entire album would have made a fantastic soundtrack for Andrei Tarkovsky's film Solaris. The sheer momentum of the title cut, which closes the album and integrates spacious electronic soundscapes, ever deepening tonalities, found taped choral vocals whispering in the background, and percussion is one of the most provocative pieces to come from the Krautrock generation. This is an auspicious debut, which holds up wonderfully in the 21st century. ( , "Allmusic.com")
Instruments used: Moog Modular Synthesizer, various percussion.

Popol Vuh - Aguirre (1975)

Pioneers of German "krautrock" music, Popol Vuh was the creature of Florian Fricke (1944-2001). The first album "Affenstunde" (1970) is an early jaunt into electronic music with its massive use of the Moog synthesizer as well as added percussion. "In Den Gärten Pharaos" (1971) experimented with a fusion between electronic and organ sounds, creating an intense, almost religious ambient music. From "Hosianna Mantra" (1972) on, Popol Vuh abandoned the electronic medium to develop a personal avant-garde progressive rock music. Florian Fricke died in 2001 in his sleep.
Aguirre is the seventh album by the German progressive krautrock band Popol Vuh. It contains music used in the soundtrack to Werner Herzog's film Aguirre, the Wrath of God (1972), first released as an album in 1975 on Ohr, and reissued in 2004 by SPV with one bonus track. This score was the first of many collaborations between the group and Herzog. Only two tracks ("Aguirre I" and "Aguirre II") are from the film; the rest were gathered from various recordings done by the group during the period 1972–1974, including alternative versions of two songs ("Morgengruß II" and "Agnus Dei") originally released on the band's 1974 album, Einsjäger und Siebenjäger.
