wEirD - A Different Kind Of Normal (1999)

The participants in this project are Jens Peschke and Andy Bloyce from Kubusschnitt. The first thing you hear on this album is a rumbling sequence which leaves you in no doubt that the territory to be explored is decidedly retro. There are Tangerine Dream references but they are mixed in equal part with Klaus Schulze and Ashra influences. The opening track title 'Klaus to the Edge' (!) makes the Schulze reference even more obvious. The guitar when used is very subtle giving colour rather than dominating as a lead instrument. The sequence provides the backbone but the accompanying atmospherics and effects are just as effective. Some of the sounds used will make you go weak at the knees Sequences are used for much of the time but they are never allowed to just run, they come and go and are constantly shape shifting. The guitar at times provides the lead line but just as importantly it adds an extra dimension to the overall sound in just the right places. The music ranges from upbeat and optimistic to dark and hellish particularly on the second half of the title track. Recommended without hesitation. Here!

John Dyson - Darklight (2009)

John Dyson is a UK musician specialising in sweeping electronica landscapes, rhythmic and melodic synthesiser music. His music could variously be described as New Age and World music in parts.

This is without a doubt John Dysons best album to date. Here he implements the craftsmanship of dynamic electronic grooves combined with some very ethereal and lush sounding synths & guitar work, which in return creates an almost symphonic experience.
Compared to his other CD's, this one has a slightly different approach to it in terms of melody and structure. This time Dyson is leaning more towards the vibes of what Tangerine Dream did back in the days. Some very good highlights/examples are the songs "Retro 82" and "Showers" which indeed showcases that Dyson's ability to create music with a new twist and creativity is a fact.
This CD is a superbly well-crafted extravaganza not to be missed by any fan of instrumental music. It has everything you could possibly expect from a Dyson album and more!
This is what I would call "the new generation of electronic music". Highly Recommended, especially for the fan base of Tangerine Dream.

Joel Vandroogenbroeck - Avision (1988)

Joel Vandroogenbroeck, is a Belgian pianist and flutist, born 25 August 1938 in Brussels, Belgium. He received the Art Tatum prize as “youngest jazz pianist” at the age of fifteen, and toured around Europe and Africa including performances with the Quincy Jones Orchestra at the World Exhibition in Brussels and the RAI symphony of Rome. By 1967, Vandroogenbroeck was still playing jazz but he found new inspiration in German krautrock artists Amon Duul II, Can and Tangerine Dream. Under the influence of these groups, Joel and guitarist Ron Byer recruited drummer Wolfgang Paap and formed the trio that would become Brainticket. [1]
During the 80s, Joel followed a solo carreer and released several wonderful electronic albums. Here we present "Avision"

Bernard Xolotl is a French composer and multimedia artist, born in 1951. He was a disciple of Terry Riley and Pandit Pran Nath. From 1974 to 1993 he lived in California. After that time he returned to France.
"Prophecy" was recorded with a prophet 5  and a "zeta systems" guitar synthesizer. A very underrated album .
